I was going through footage from the past season this morning and came across this long lost footage of my friend Gabe fishing the breezy point jetty this past fall in 45kt gust with a steady 25kt blowing from the west. The jetty was getting pounded. Check it.

Do it yourself cooler rack
A friend of mine was asking me the other day about my homemade cooler rack i constructed last winter. When i have the time i will post up a detailed outline of how to build one but for those of you handy enough to build something from a picture here you go. The rack was purchased from harbor freight for around $50 i believe. A trip to home depot will get you the rest of the hardware. A pvc pipe, some stainless steel screws and pipe brackets from home depot was all i needed. The rack is capable of holding a 164quart igloo cooler which is what im using but a smaller cooler would allow for extra space for other things you dont want in your truck (ie sandy waders!!) Be on the lookout for a detailed write up coming soon.
I made 3 rod holders on each side of the rack allowing for 6 rods. Since taking this picture i moved the back 2 rod holders to the very front. The reason was i couldnt open the rear gate if i had rods in those back 2 holders. The the relocation of those holders i can now have 6 rods in the rack and still open the rear gate.

Surfday 2011
I attended Jersey Shore Surfcasters "SurfDay" show on saturday and was very impressed as this was my first time attending. I can say i will definately make the trip every year. Excellent show dedicated just to surfcasting. There were plenty of plugbuilders, surfbag mfg's, and shops set up with some great deals.
Get in line!! I arrived about an hour early and there were a dozen or so people already there waiting. By the time the show started i couldnt see the end of the line down the hallway. They definately had a great turn out.
This guy's collection was insane. Afterhours, greenpoint tackle, Big water lures, Lemire plugworks, DT custom lures, AOK tackle, Habs, black label were just a few of the many plug builders on hand selling thier product.
The legend Don Musso of Superstrike Lures signing my friend dave's musso darter. Don is the nicest guy and a wealth of information. It sure was great talking with him.

Late fall fishing in nyc
This was my last edit from the 2010 season. Its footage from our last 3 trips of the year with Capt Ken and some filler shots from the fall surf. Keep on the lookout for new videos as we begin the 2011 season.
Fly fishing in the bight
Some fly fishing action on a cold, windy, late fall day with anglers David Berman and Terry Brykczynski.
Offshore tuna 9-11-10
Capt Ken Jones called and said the tuna hunt was scheduled and that my cameras needed to be on board. I do not argue with orders like that. Glad i didnt either cause this was one hell of a trip. Left home base around 3am and made the 60+mile trek to the tuna grounds by sunrise. As soon as we got there it was one. First bait was hit within minutes and we had fresh sushi for dinner. At one point we had albies and skipjacks all around us and bluefins down belowing picking up. I hooked up with something large on my light tackle setup and before i knew it half my spool was on its way to africa. After foolishly applying alittle more drag, my braid exploded and my fun was over. Thanks to Capt Ken Jones for putting us on the fish!!
Mola Mola aka sunfish
On our way back from an unsuccessful tuna search, we came across loads of rainbait and this mola mola gorging himself on them. Now that i am armed with a gopro camera i hope to see this guys again this year to get some underwater footage.
jones world sportfishing
This was the first video i did for Capt Ken Jones who charters out of Gateway marina in Marine Park. Conditions being extremely hot were keeping the fish down but we did manage to hook into this 27 in bass. I threw this little edit together as a joke for Capt Ken but i think it ended up coming out pretty good.
Dolphins off the nyc coast
This was a early saturday morning hunt for mahi. Instead Capt Ken Jones of Jonesworldsportfishing.com and I were treated to a solid hour of large pods of dolphins feeding all around the boat. The area was just loaded with bait. This is one of those days you just dont forget!!
Bass Blitz off rockaways
Sorry about the video quality on this one. I only had my nikon coolpics point and shoot and the video on it is not the best. This was a crazy july 4th weekend 30-40lb bass blitzing bunker up and down the rockaways for 2 straight days. Sadly they never come close enough for us surf guys but watching it was still pretty cool.
