A friend of mine was asking me the other day about my homemade cooler rack i constructed last winter. When i have the time i will post up a detailed outline of how to build one but for those of you handy enough to build something from a picture here you go. The rack was purchased from harbor freight for around $50 i believe. A trip to home depot will get you the rest of the hardware. A pvc pipe, some stainless steel screws and pipe brackets from home depot was all i needed. The rack is capable of holding a 164quart igloo cooler which is what im using but a smaller cooler would allow for extra space for other things you dont want in your truck (ie sandy waders!!) Be on the lookout for a detailed write up coming soon.
I made 3 rod holders on each side of the rack allowing for 6 rods. Since taking this picture i moved the back 2 rod holders to the very front. The reason was i couldnt open the rear gate if i had rods in those back 2 holders. The the relocation of those holders i can now have 6 rods in the rack and still open the rear gate.
